Led by the indefatiguable Machinist, Radix Review now enters it's third season, and is bigger and better than ever! But first of all, before we get into it, a small paragraph to embarrass my friend The Machinist!
Crypto lives and dies by it's adoption. We strive to have more users join. Users are great. What's even better however, are the elusive power users. What does this mean, precisely? I don't entirely know - but I once heard Adam use the term on a space, it sounded clever, and I wanted to test-drive it myself.
I think of it as firstly as people who can harness Greyskull, and secondly as people who don't just join an ecosystem, but significantly enhance it. Machinist very much falls into this category - the latter one, in case there is any confusion. Be it with $DAN; everything from their memes to gold-standard tokenomics & record-breaking launch, or their host of utilities like passive income, staking, and trading bot. Or other projects like (coming thoon) XRDegen, where we'll get to trade & collect our precious NFTs. Then there are the intangibles; building a community, the vibez, and of course, Smash Karts! However the focus of this piece is what I put my energy towards alongside Machinist, and that is our weekly, live and direct come rain or shine, Friday 7pm UTC X Spaces Radix Review!
Before it took the form of Radix Review, I was invited onto Machinist's Space to talk $HIT. We hit off, and a couple of short weeks later, we decided to turn the space into a weekly review of what was happening within the world we love that is Radix. The focus was simply community; to build and nurture a space where people could gather and contribute to the platform that we are all slightly obsessed with, and feel more united with the avatars and pfps we chat behind. The most important people would always be those listening, and we would do our best to provide an independent (and hopefully entertaining) voice of (largely) reason. The show initially began as a three including Zombie, before moving to a Machinist & Felix double-act from from Season 2.
If Dear Reader you haven't yet had the pleasure, Radix Review it's a light-hearted and relaxed take on what the larger stories and projects are within the ecosystem, recorded live by two prize turnips. Projects and Guests are either known within the ecosystem prior to joining, or are screened to do our best to ensure we don't invite any unsavory characters! No guests are told questions ahead of time, and can expect to be asked some challenging ones.
Remarkably, we've managed to cover quite some ground! The following are shows, topics & themes from the show's 30-odd episode run thus far:
- Dan Hughes himself is a regular guest, pint in hand after a long week in the cave, to ELI5 his latest news
- Mass Adoption & Breakout2024
- Mental Health in Web3
- Memecoins such as FOMO, EDGE, WeAreMonstas
- Selfi & XRD Domains with Beem & Wylie
- Maya Protocol with Aaluxx
- RadQuest Inquest
- XRDegen with Aaron
- Several RDX Works Appearances; Including Piers introducing Anthic, and Adam stopping by a few times
- Radix.wiki discussing Hackathons
- MOCA & THORSwap
- Ecosystem Legends Slammer & Avaunt joining on stage
- Stabilis with Octo
- Komodo from Root Finance
It's been amazing to get to chat to so many incredible people, building this ecosystem from the ground up! Coders, Degens, Artists, Radix Team and more. This is in addition to others simply raising a hand and getting on stage, and shooting the shit. And now those profiles are listed, it's time to follow if you're not already doing so, I even hyperlinked them for you!
Ultimately, the only reason we do and are able to do Radix Review is the community. Without people tuning in live, or listening back, the show simply doesn't exist. Whilst builders attract users to the platform via on-chain activities, we are able to attract users through off-chain activities.
We are now on a host of platforms, and the crypto podcast world is really, really small. That means it won't take a lot to rise up the search rankings. As the bull-run continues (so I'm told), moar and moar people will be looking for content. With your help, Dear Community, we would be able to get that visibility, and attract more users to Radix!
